Rivers Wander Away
In wasted worries,
I waited for whispers…
What we risk,
watching rivers wander away!
But my careless song
of wrathful wonder,
chased the sun
from wintery cliffs, aground.
Frozen wishes
wave to welcome
enemy effort
as it shrink-wraps my brain.
Wrestle to rest
your desperate rover
that you might reach
what you hinder, hustling.
May it hover
henceforth, habitually,
in rhyme
or silent seconds of stirring.
Turn your face
to the rain of reckoning,
and pull the armor
from your eyes, once again.
One cannot bare
the restless reminders
rendered self-righteously
from your back.
What you want
will arrive forgotten,
